Home Delivered Meals – Meals on Wheels
OPC’s Meals on Wheels program is designed for seniors unable to shop and/or prepare meals. MOW allows a senior to age in place, encouraging independence for those who wish to remain in their home for as long as possible. OPC’s MOW Program is more than a meal. Volunteers provide a wellness check in addition to delivering a hot, nutritious meal to homebound seniors. There is no waiting list, and meals are received within 24 hours of request.

You may use the minibus for appointments, shopping, to visit friends, or attend activities at OPC. Read More The OPC Transportation Service is a door to door, shared ride service. The minibuses are wheelchair lift equipped and our courteous, trained drivers will safely get you to your destination and back home again. A reservation is required 48 hours in advance, (see reservation hours below). Transportation is available for persons 60 years or older and those under 60 who are disabled. People under 60 may also qualify if they have a doctor’s statement and are unable to drive. If you are age 59 or younger, please contact the Transportation Office at 248-652-4780 for information on special guidelines. $3.00 donation each trip, ($6.00 round trip) or whatever you can afford. Adult day services is a professional care setting in which older adults, adults living with dementia, or adults living with disabilities benefit from individualized therapeutic, social, and health related services. Read More The Adult Day Service is an important source of support for family caregivers. The program offers a safe, caring environment for the participants and respite for their caregivers during the day, enabling individuals to live at home and remain independent in their communities. Our program provides a full curriculum of activities for seniors who may function somewhat independently, but who are socially isolated and need structure, activities, mental stimulation and/or supervision in a home environment. We discuss current events, play cards and board games, get involved in art and crafts projects, take field trips and sometimes we sing, dance, tells stories, and just have a lot of fun. The OPC Senior Resource program offers you or someone you care about a place to find out about information and resources, available in the community, on all aspects of aging. We can connect you to the helpful programs and services if you or loved one is experiencing difficulties – physical, emotional, legal, or financial. Our Information Hallway, outside the Senior Resource offices, not only contains information on OPC’s services, but has answers to frequently asked questions, and brochures, to other valuable resources for seniors and their families. See Senior Programs OPC’s Act of Kindness Program is designed to assist senior citizens and disabled residents in Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township, who have limited income and need help with unexpected home repairs so they can continue to live with dignity in their own homes. Funds designated to Act of Kindness are used to pay for the repairs. Call 248-608-0249 for more information and eligibility requirements. Local attorney, Dana Wilson, visits OPC twice a month, daytime and evening, to answer your legal questions. Call 248-656-1403 Ext. 0 for times and to schedule a 15 minutes free appointment. The OPC loans durable medical equipment at no charge. Keep them as long as necessary and return clean. Donations are gratefully accepted. Call 248-608-0264 to borrow or donate an item. Trained MMAP volunteers are available to answer your questions about Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Part D Prescription programs, and Supplemental Insurances. Assistance is also available in understanding statements from Medicare, hospitals, etc. By appointment only, call 248-656-1403 Ext. 0. Lawn mowing services in Rochester and snow removal services in Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township are available for income eligible seniors and disabled residents, funded under the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG).
