Grace Centers of Hope

Serving those in need since 1942.
Grace Centers of Hope was established in 1942. It has since grown and evolved into the largest and oldest faith-based outreach to homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families. Grace Centers of Hope(GCH) provides a full recovery and rehabilitation campus for homeless men, women and children who have been abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.
Change begins when we, as a community, extend helping hands. We do not believe homelessness and substance abuse addictions can be solved simply by throwing dollars at the problem. We believe that change occurs from the inside out. Consequently our faith-based organization is dedicated to recovery through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and supported through our challenging life skills programs. They also have clothing stores for low income families.

Programs:

The primary objective of the Emergency Shelter Program is to offer homeless individuals and families a safe residence while seeking transitional or permanent housing. Our staff members are committed Christians, and are committed to providing quality care for each child at our center. We will not accept any government funding, therefore we are trusting that God will use volunteers and donations to provide for the needs of our center. Thank you for partnering with us to meet the needs of our precious little ones; they are truly the innocent victims of homelessness and addiction, and they deserve the VERY BEST!

Types of programming offered
Our programs are designed to create an atmosphere which encourages individuality, imagination, creativity, and curiosity. We focus on the process of learning rather than the product. We will track the growth and development of each child in 5 key areas: physical, social, emotional, linguistic, and cognitive. We offer full-day childcare for newborns up to age 2, and preschool for our 3 & 4 year old children.

Change for Children
Change for Children is a popular outreach opportunity for schools, churches and other youth programs that teach young students about Grace Centers of Hope and how we serve children who are victims of homelessness. Change for Children is a flexible fundraising program that supports our Hands of Hope Childcare Center and directly impacts the youngest of the homeless in our community.

Curricula that educators have included Change for Children in include:

• National Reading Awareness Month
• Community Involvement and Volunteerism
• Social issues surrounding poverty and homelessness
